Browser support
The flasher uses the Web Serial API, which is only available in Chromium-based desktop browsers.
Hardware
The supported board is the ESP32-2432S028, commonly called the Cheap Yellow Display. Check the model number before flashing because similarly named boards can use different display or touch wiring.
Troubleshooting
If something doesn’t work as expected, try these checks before reconnecting the device.
- ?No port appears. Try a different USB cable — many are charge-only. Mac users may need the CH340 driver.
- ?Stuck at “Preparing”. Hold the BOOT button on the board while clicking Install.
- ?No WiFi hotspot. Press RST to reboot. The hotspot appears during first setup, phone setup, or after Change WiFi. It is intentionally off during normal home-WiFi operation.
- ?Won’t connect to WiFi. ESP32 supports 2.4 GHz only. Check that your router isn’t 5 GHz exclusive.
- ?“User not found”. Check spelling. Your MakerWorld profile must be public.
- ?Stats do not update. On the same home WiFi, open http://makerstats-cyd.local, enter the PIN shown in device Settings, and use Refresh now. Confirm the MakerWorld profile is public.
